Ancient and rare turquoise melon beads, most likely originating in the mountainous regions of Afghanistan and crafted by talented artisans in the early cities of Sumeria or Mesopotamia, circa 3000-2600BC. The ‘melon’ shape is often found in ancient ornament. Combined with tiffany-like favrille glass beads, early 20thCentury, and signature 22k detailing.
